Erlan Romero and his family live in the remote Las Botijas community in Southern Comayagua, where they have been producing excellent coffees for years with very little guidance. This lot is the first entry from the Romero family into the Sueños de Semilla project, which provides fair prices, feedback from roasters and buyers, and a network of other farmers to work with. This pacamara is sweet, comforting, and will have you coming back for more.

“Erlan was the first of his family to enter the Sueños project with this lot that you have there, and now his whole family has joined in 2026. Las Botijas is a remote community in Southern Comayagua, where the Romero family and others only sell primarily to the intermediary market. Despite growing coffee for now 26 years, when they've attempted to enter the specialty market, they've been met with many challenges because the buyers simply don't give them feedback or tell them what happens with their coffee. Samples are sent, and then they are simply told that the coffee isn't sufficient and is rejected. This has left them in a constant cycle, looking for better opportunities but without access to buyers who can give them the feedback they need.
Despite this, the family has continued to work and has been producing incredible coffees with very little guidance. Growing Parainema, Pacamara, Gesha, and Typica, the family counts around 8000 trees total including many trees that have been planted in the last few years. This year, Erlan's brother Deyvin placed 10th in the Cup of Excellence competition with his natural Parainema.” -Semilla
